The CNLA (Canadian Nursery Landscape Association) studied the effectiveness of hand weeding, herbicide and seven different weed barriers on dwarf Alberta spruce in 1 gallon pots. The barriers were applied in July 2003, and were evaluated periodically for the next two seasons. They found the Coco Discs to be the most effective weed control alternative - even more effective than herbicide!
