ABOUT US AND OUR INDUSTRY:

We have been offering horticultural supplies and equipment to the Canadian and American markets for over 60 years.  We import items from all over the world, including Europe, Asia and North America.

We sell supplies and equipment that are used to grow, plant and maintain trees and other vegetation that are used for reforestation, conservation plantings and landscaping.

Although the hours are not seasonal, the duties are. Spring and fall are the busiest and is mostly shipping and receiving. Summer is when we have time to work in our nursery and do maintenance on the property. Winter is the time that we catch up on odd jobs and receive most of our items for sale in the spring.

THE MAIN ADVANTAGES TO WORKING HERE:

We are a family run small business who care about what we do.

We offer year-round employment, not seasonal. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 8 to 5, for a good work-life balance.

The position offers quite a bit of diversity.  It is rare to be doing the same thing day in - day out.

You will mostly be working outdoors (primarily spring/summer/fall) - not confined to a closed in work space or sitting behind a desk all day long. In the winter, we try to do as much indoor work as possible.

Fridge, freezer and microwave are available.

We are offering a competitive starting wage plus a comprehensive benefit package.

THE SKILL SET THAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We pride ourselves on our reputation of being fast, accurate and pleasant to deal with.  Therefore, teamwork and attention to detail is very important to us, whether it is shipping our products, or receiving inventory.  We need someone who cares about the quality of their work as much as we do.

Although you will often be working with other people, you also need to be self-motivated, especially when working on your own.

You must be able to multi task and prioritize.

There is some paper work to be done for the shipping/receiving so the ability to read, write and speak English is a necessity.

We would prefer forklift/machinery experience.

It would also be ideal if you have mechanical aptitude, knowledge of simple repairs, tool usage, etc.

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:

You need to provide your own gloves and CSA approved safety boots.

Dress should be comfortable, but decent and non-offensive. It should also provide some protection from the environment.

Punctuality is very important as we quite often have customers coming before/at 8:00 - you need to be ready to work at 8:00.

You have to have your own reliable transportation as we are not in an area serviced by public transit.

COVID PROTOCOLS:

Employees must complete self-screening upon arrival each day.

A mask is required indoors.

Common surfaces are cleaned daily.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please send us your resume by email (mail@timmenterprises.com) or fax (905-878-7888) or in person to 5204 Trafalgar Road, Milton (between Britannia and Lower Baseline).
